Network Planning, Design, and Installation Planning

Since the most important aspect of a successful LAN installation is the thoroughness of the planning stage, we very carefully evaluate how the network is to be used. We have experience installing complex LAN software, specializing in Microsoft NT Server. During the planning process, we estimate the data volume that the network will be expected to handle. Special attention is paid to providing growth while maintaining network performance and efficiency. A security strategy is defined.

Network Design

Define the layout of the network that will meet the specific needs of your environment. Identify network topology and hardware and software requirements. Establish network administration procedures or assess and recommend update to current procedures.

Workstation Installation

Review installation to insure compatibility. Set Interrupt Requests (IRQ) for each device to avoid IRQ contention. Evaluate software, including memory managers, network drivers, and multitasking systems.

File Server and Print Server Installation

Determine the best price/performance alternatives: for example, sharing printers. Significant cost savings can be achieved by providing individual printers to only the most print intensive users.
